Cattle Egret at Miller's Ponds, Crawford County, PA
For the second time in three autumns, a Cattle Egret has been discovered at Miller's Ponds near Pymatuning State Park
and has remained for multiple days. The last Cattle Egret here stayed for a few days in late September, 2003.
This bird, originally discovered on November 11, was found on the 13th in a field right next to PA-285 feasting
on grasshoppers with great success. It has been relatively warm recently, and it is possible that the bird will remain
here happily eating grasshoppers until the next hard frost.
