Western Kingbird near Jacksonville, Indiana County, PA
This vagrant from western North America was discovered by Roger and Margaret Higbee on July 28th during a breeding
bird atlas survey. Historically casual in PA, there have been noticably few reports since the turn of the century.
As a result, there were many birders who were more than delighted to discover this bird continuing for at least the next two
days, providing many with their first state record (like me) or their first record in quite some time.
