Painted Bunting at Saginaw, York County, PA
This stunning vagrant from the south was first noticed by the residents of
Saginaw as early as January 2004! Word did not spread until the first week of April, during which the bird has
become increasingly more difficult to find at the location at which it was originally reported.
The pictures below were taken five or six houses down the block from the original
location; it seems this bird has a propensity to wander the neighborhood and probably has several feeders on its daily agenda.
Patience is the key to finding it - until it flies back to Texas, of course.
