The famous Kelp Gull, recently accepted by the Maryland Bird Records Committee.
This bird, at least nine years old now (when it first appeared five years ago it was already in adult plumage), has been viewed
by thousands of birders and non-birders from every corner of the continent and perhaps even the globe.
