Finely crafted photographs are the ultimate expression of photographic craft for
me. There is no greater personal satisfaction than looking at a finished print. Perfection of a visual idea gives me very
tangible satisfaction.
I work professionally in the world of scientific photography.
But in my private time, I return to the natural world to photograph quiet and simple things well defined by light. The circular
swirl of a smooth landscape or placid water captivate me.
In recent years, I have extended that focus to the human figure, seeking the graceful
beauty of swirling smoothness and curving arcs. Both natural world objects and human forms merge into "Quiet Light" when seen
in soft lighting or hidden in deep shadow.
