The wide open spaces along
Six Mile Cypress Parkway are becoming a little less wide open.
Work began last week on the first building of Cypress
Preserve Office Condominiums, located at Six Mile's intersection with Winkler Avenue Extension. The five-acre development
will ultimately contain 13 buildings, some with views of nearby Heritage Palms Country Club golf course. The projects fill in a small portion of the vacant land along that stretch of the road, which stretches from
Colonial Boulevard to U.S. 41.
According to Peggy Hite, an agent for the project with Sand Castle Realty Group, Inc., the site contains
an element key to any development."Accessibility for people," she said. "It's
just an incredible area. You're between Daniels and Colonial and near the interstate. Location, location, location is everything.
There's a need for it in Southwest Florida, but unfortunately there's not a lot of room for it." Hite said office condominiums
are a national trend away from traditional lease arrangements."Who wants to
pay rent?" she said. "Why pay off somebody else's mortgage?"
