The Southern California
Disc Golf Association Inc.
[a.k.a. SoCal], was founded in 1996 by Loren Price, DG Hall-of-Fame member Tim Selinske, and El Dorado favorite
son John Ahart to promote the sport of disc golf in the Southern California region. Their primary mission is to
bring the sport back to the prominence it once had, through a series of PDGA-sanctioned tournaments [e.g. the SoCal
Series; as well as the U.S. Masters, and a stop on the National Tour] [!!!].
Other goals of the organization include the expansion of new courses; maintaining existing courses; and providing
a network of communication and assistance for the public, player's, course pro's, vendor's, and manufacturer's involved in
disc golf.
Note: The 2k4 U.S. Masters, and National Tour events will be hosted by Tim Selinske/Innova

The Professional Disc Golf Association [PDGA], founded in 1976, is the de facto authority in DG...it writes the rules recognized by the
World Flying Disc Federation [WFDF]. Not for just for 'pros' but all golfers, the PDGA is a non-profit organization
dedicated to promotion of the sport of disc golf worldwide. Its 20,000-plus members live and play in more than twenty
countries on five continents.
The PDGA is also a source of information about the sport, and provides current members with the comprehensive, full-color
magazine called Disc Golf World News.
