Caravan for OS/2

Caravan is a platform for building applications for OS/2, Windows and Linux. It spans the depth and breadth of technologies, the future and the traditional. Caravan itself is written in c++, making it possible to encapsulate Multithreading, Communication protocols, File systems and Data storage/access which are needed to build advanced applications. Because of its very nature and unique purpose, it was designed from ground up using a totally new approach. Though originally developed for OS/2, it has now been ported to other multi-threaded operating systems. There is a common source for all platforms, so all versions are released simultaneously and there are no platform specific features or anomalies. Porting to other Unix based systems is also a simple task.

Postgres for OS/2

Welcome to Postgres SQL server for OS/2 & eComstation site developer

PostgreSQL is a sophisticated Object-Relational DBMS, supporting almost all SQL constructs, including subselects, transactions, and user-defined types and functions. It is the most advanced open-source database available anywhere.

Splendid world of OS2

The page is devoted to the perfect OS/2 operation system, which offers many unique features. It is easy and fast to find a number of good articles, interesting PDF documents, powerful programs and other information. Although the primary focus is on the latest events and systems (Merlin 4.0, Aurora 4.5, eComStation 1.1), users of the older OS/2, DOS and X-Window systems will surely also find a lot of interesting info. In addition, we will gradually publish information on old and new hardware and quality computer games.

Redondo Beach, California

About Redondo Beach

In 1887 it started out as one of the first ports for Los Angeles due to a large underwater canyon close to shore which allowed ships to come very close to shore. Lucky for Redondo, the undersea canyon made it impractical to build a large shipping harbor which eventually ended up at San Pedro and Wilmington.

Years ago it had many Victorian buildings near the beach (South end) shacks up north. The area is hilly like San Francisco; I guess in the late 1800's cities were built on square grids no matter what. Today, most of the Victorian buildings are mostly gone (shacks too). With land prices going up... up... up... a lot of the older stuff gets ripped out for those new Mediterranean mini-mansions.

I grew up there in the 1960's and it changed dramatically by the 1970's. Many places don't see the kind of change you'll find here. Condos were the thing in the early 1970's.

(more later).
