Scott was born in an area called Elm Grove near Azen in Scotland County Missouri on February 27, 1896. He spent his childhood on his father's farm located there.

In 1915 he graduated from Memphis High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW I.

On June 8, 1918 in Scotland County, Missouri he married Edith (Shella Marion) MITCHELL. Edith was born in Scotland County on August 16, 1899.

About 1926 he moved with wife and daughter from Missouri to Claremont, California.

He was employed as a hauler of Pacific Electric and Southern Pacific railroad freight, eventually owning and operating his own moving van and storage business.

A favorite hobby was "lawn bowling".

He and wife, Edith, enjoyed taking fishing and camping trips to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

Scott died on December 25, 1989 in Laverne, Los Angeles County, California and was buried at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont, Los Angeles County, California.

Edith died on November 28, 1996 at a rest home in Laverne, Los Angeles County, California and was buried at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont, Los Angeles County, California.
