was born in Elm Grove near Azen within Scotland County Missouri on February 12, 1875. She spent her childhood on her father's farm in Scotland County.

After completing college, she became a dressmaker and specialized for a time in making and selling ladies hats. She had her own shop.

On November 26, 1899 in Scotland County she married Simeon PHARES. He was born in Illinois on February 14, 1870.

Following marriage, she and husband, Sim, moved onto their own farm in the "Claypoint " area of Scotland County where they lived for many years and where their children were born and raised.

Simeon died sometime after 1955.

Minnie died on December 10, 1959 at her home in Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri. She was buried in the Individual Mausoleum at the Memphis Cemetery.
