William Pearson KNOX was born in Illinois on November 27, 1858.

He was with his parents at age 11 in McHenry County Illinois during the
census taken in 1870.

About 1878, in Illinois, he married Florence Adel BIRDSALL. Florence was born in Michigan in March of 1855.

The census taken in June of 1880 shows them still in Illinois with William's parents. William is shown as being 21 years of age.

By October of 1884 and through July of 1892 he was living with wife and family in Kansas.

They moved sometime prior to August of 1894 to Knox County, Nebraska where they lived through the time of the U.S. census taken in June of
1900. A daughter was born in Bloomfield, Nebraska in 1901.

William spent a short period of time in California soon thereafter but by the
time of the U.S. census of 1910 was with his family in Cherokee Township of Montgomery County in Kansas.

The 1920 census shows the family had remained in Montgomery County to that time.

William was a farmer as was his father before him.

William and Florence had the following children:

1. Roy (William Roy) KNOX was born in Crystal Lake, Algonquin Township, McHenry County, Illinois in 1879. ....<Go there>

3. Lou (Louis B.) KNOX was born in Illinois in January of 1881. <Go there>

4. Clive (Cleveland James) KNOX was born in Kansas in
October of 1884. <Go there>

5. Clyde KNOX was born in Kansas in June of 1887. He was living with his parents in Knox County, Nebraska at the time of the 1900 census. He
died before 1910 at a relatively young age.

6. Walter A. KNOX was born in Kansas in September of 1888. At the time of the U.S. census taken in June of 1900 he was at age 11 and with his
parents in Knox County, Nebraska. By the census of 1910 he was with them in Cherokee Township, Montgomery County, Kansas and had remained there
with them through the census of 1920. His life beyond 1920 is unknown, except he is known to have been buried at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas.

7. Nellie KNOX was born in Kansas in July of 1892. She was living with her parents at the time of the 1900 census taken in June of that year in
Herrick Precinct of Knox County, Nebraska. She died before 1910 at a relatively young age.

8. Belle (Claribel) KNOX was born in Nebraska on August 24, 1894. ..............<Go there>

9. Edith KNOX was born in Nebraska in September of 1896. At the time of the U.S. census taken in June of 1900 she was 3 years old and living with
her parents in Herrick Precinct, Knox County, Nebraska. This may have been the place of her birth. She died before 1910 at a relatively young age.

10. Floss (Florence Louise) KNOX was born in Bloomfield, Knox County, Nebraska on April 12, 1901. <Go there>
