This is the actual discharge certificate recieved by Henry Rugh when he was discharged from the Union Army in February of 1864.
Henry was in the civil war, fought, and was captured at the battle of Shiloh. He spent about a year in the prison camp, was exchanged, discharged and reinlisted to finish the war with his unit, the 21st Missouri Volunteer Infantry.
The above picture graciously provided to us by Cousin Virginia (Rugh) Swartz.
