Kate Amanda (nee Rugh)

Mandy (Kate Amanda) RUGH was born in Greensburg, Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania on June 15, 1846 to Michael Rugh & Zeruah (nee Williams).
As a child she came on a flatboat from Pennsylvania to Van Buren County Iowa with her parents. They moved to nearby Scotland County, Missouri in 1856.
Following marriage she continued to live in Scotland County and to assist her husband on their own farm. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Methodist Church.
On January 20, 1870 in Scotland County, Missouri she married Ruff (Benjamin Rufus) GRINSTEAD, the son of George Thompson GRINSTEAD and Emmeline WILDMAN.
Mandy died on February 7, 1933 at 86 years of age at her home in Scotland County and was buried at Prairie View Methodist Cemetery.
Ruff died on December 6, 1936 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa and was laid to rest next to Mandy at Prairie View.
