      M 31   Andromeda Galaxy
San Gabriel Mts., CA.  Imaged with a Takahashi Sky 90 telescope and a Canon 10D DSLR camera @ f/4.5.  12 x 300 sec. exposures @ ISO 800.  Idas LPS Filter.  Guided with a STV and E-Finder on a Losmandy G9 mount.  Images calibrated, aligned and combined using 5 dark frames to create a master dark  and then Adaptive Dark Frame subtraction  and Min Max Excluded Average for staking in ImagesPlus.  Image  stretching, brightness levels, contrast and  color balancing  all performed with Photoshop 7.0.

Milky Way in Cygnus.  Prominent red area is NGC 7000, The North American Nebula.
San Gabriel Mts., CA.  Imaged with a Canon 50 mm f/1.8 lens and a Canon 10D DSLR camera @ f/2.8.  Piggybacked on a Takahashi Sky 90 telescope.  6 x 300 sec. exposures @ ISO 400.  Idas LPS Filter.  Guided through the Sky 90 with a STV on a Losmandy G9 mount.  Images calibrated, aligned and combined using 6 dark frames to create a master dark  and then Adaptive Dark Frame subtraction  and Min Max Excluded Average for staking in ImagesPlus.  Image  stretching, brightness levels, contrast and  color balancing  all performed with Photoshop 7.0.

    M 16   Eagle Nebula.
San Gabriel Mts., CA.  Imaged with a Takahashi Sky 90 telescope and a Canon 10D DSLR camera @ f/4.5.  12 x 300 sec. exposures @ ISO 800.  This image was to test the new Idas LPS Filter, which worked very well.  M 16 was low in the south and completely engulfed in the light dome from Los Angeles/San Bernadino which extends well above the mountain peaks.  This object will be a much better target in the early summer months when it is higher, and when the "June Gloom" marine layer over the L.A.  basin effectively eliminates the light pollution.
