Here is to the free Kosovo!
Hallaj is toasting for our Kosovar friends on their newly found independence, & at the same time offering a salute
to our friends in Bosnia. These brave people really took a blood bath to get this precious freedom, may they enjoy the fruits
of freedom in the form true secular democracy and live in peace. And while we are at it let us also shade some tears and find
a peaceful way for the freedom fighters in places like Southern Sudan, Darfur Region, Basque, Palestine, Naga Land, Khalistan,
Sinkiang (The Chinese Turkistan), Kurdistan, the citizens Chechnya & other independence seeking Muslim provinces of Russia
& of course Kashmir (if there are some minorities not described here then please remind me so that I can add you to my
data base).
It will not be an easy path. History has told us that some times peaceful struggle can bring freedom but unfortunately
more often that is not the case. It is because of human greed and ego which makes the path of freedom always a bloody path.
It has become even more difficult during the 21st century, because some unfortunate incidences have lead the tyrants to declare
almost every independent seeking group a terrorist organization.
Dear readers, if you look closely then you will find that these are usually some super powers who are subjugating their
minorities and while doing so they support each other and look in different direction from where the atrocities are committed.
The United Nations, which was suppose to bring some order of peace to this world, looks like bunch of eunuchs (sorry friends,
I am not insulting eunuchs, I should rather use the word impotent cowards who can not take any action to bring Real peace
to this world). On top of that they have chosen a group of five nations who are permanent members of the so called the Security
Council who can veto any solution (these solutions do not come that easy, they are reached after long drawn out debates) and
their veto makes the solution dead in the water.
Some readers might remember the reversal of fortune on this stage which is comical in the sense that The Republic of
China was the member of this council one day and the next day it was stripped of its national status (it has been reduced
to be called as Taiwan, which is not considered even a country any more, despite of the fact that it is a democratic nation).
Then Communist China was offered that position on a silver platter.
The second member is a super power whose tentacles reach from the American borders through Europe and all the way to
Asia.
The other two members are the major Colonial powers of the past whose legacy is nothing else but leaving a trail of dead
bodies of those innocent people who just wanted the dignity of freedom. And of course the largest of all is that Juggernaut
who has its army presence in at least 132 nations of the world. So here we go again -that the more the things change the more
they remain the same. Peace and harmony on this earth will remain an elusive goal. Any suggestions?
