This picture shows the turntable and the back of the
Goldhill Express building. |
 |
The office end of the Goldhill Express building with GUS RR
#7 switching two cars for loading. Note the painters on the roof. |
 |
One load is spotted on the dump track at Gilardi's Landing
on the Petaluma River. Skeleton log cars are used as idler cars to keep
the engine off the trestle. |
 |
This is Goldhill Drive the main road into Goldhill. It goes
behind the Roundhouse and between the Goldhill Express building and the
Goldhill Industries plant. The small houses are RR Company owned housing. |
 |
Goldhill Express as seen from the rail loading side. Minor
track work is being done near the bumper posts. The buisness cars are on
the Station's House track. |
 |
Goldhill Industries 4 story brick building is impressive,
yet we still do not know what they do in there. Track to the left leads to
the Eureka Interchange, to the right is the lead to Goldhill. |
 |
Another view of Goldhill Industries. The unfinished town of
Goldhill is in the backround. |
 |
View showing Goldhill Drive leading off around the back of
the building. The bridge (behind the building) takes the road over the
tracks leading to Goldhill. |
 |
Railroad Oil is a big customer of the railroad. The siding
can hold five cars, but can only unload two at a time. Good for switching. |
 |
The doodlebug, Goldhill #3, is on the turntable after being
pulled out of the Roundhouse. It will have passenger duty later on today.
The rail yard is in the foreground. |
 |
This is the main office of the Goldhill & Udell
Railroad. The building is modeled from the Schellville depot in Sonoma. On
the GUS RR it is located at the beginning of the branch line to Goldhill
at the East end of the Udell yard. The tracks in the foreground are the SP
main and passing track. |
 |
Behind the Depot are two large customers for the railroad,
Growers Cold Storage and further down the same spur is the Furniture
Factory. |
