Home away from Home

Come, relax at the home away from home hostel. An oasis in the Downtown area of
Phoenix
Take a break from the road. We know you travel to find yourself but sometimes it's nice to stand still and
take stock. The Metcalf House is the place to do just that. You know this place is a little different as you approach. First
of all its not obvious! Hidden by trees in a residential neighborhood. As you walk up the path to the front door you can almost
sense the change in energy. The garden seems to bring an immediate sense of calm, of relaxation, you simply want to take off
your pack and sit under the trees, and watch the humming birds.
You realize that this feeling is genuine as you check
with the no frills staff, who are mines of information As you find your way around you soon realize that this is one of the
most easy going Hostels you've ever been to.
You enter the common room and are surrounded by original works of art. There is a piano, and other
musical instruments there for you enjoyment, and self expression. Or perhaps you want to create your own masterpiece
to add to the gallery that covers the walls and ceiling? In the relaxed atmosphere you feel at ease to start to show
that inner being. You can join in the philosophical conversation at the round table. Or perhaps create a gourmet meal in the
fully equipped kitchen. Of course you may want to simply sit in the corner , unwind, and just soak in the ambiance. This is
why travelers call it the Home away from Home Hostel. This place brings out the best in people.
This hostel truly
reflects the philosophy and vision of, it's long time manager, Susan, who believes that sharing experiences
and stories with each other is half the fun of hostelling!
