[life title]

Here's me in my most yuppyest mode, even during the day it's hard to keep that color from My Picture soaking through. I'm a 36 year-old dude from Destin on the Emerald Coast of Florida, but now livin' in Evansville, which is in the southern tip of Indiana. It's pretty cool to be a Jeff. I access the Internet through Earthlink, which seems to be a pretty cool national ISP. Check 'em out. This page is basically info on some things that interest me and some things I enjoy, with relevant links.

FIT LogoI graduated with a BSEE from the Florida Institute Of Technology in 1984. FIT is a great place to go to school, especially if you love the beach. It's a surfing engineer's paradise, especially if you already have a girlfriend and aren't that worried about finding a new one. I calculate that I attended approximately 56.3% of my classes with wet hair, 34.2% with sandy feet and no shoes, and at least 6.7% wearing a wetsuit. FIT is so hip, it even has it's own Surfing Page, complete with surf & tide reports, pics and other cool info. Although I don't do much engineering these days, I do remember Ohm's Law and the Right Hand Rule.

UF BannerI got my MBA from the University Of Florida in 1986. The UF MBA program is pretty intense, and getting that degree kind of changed my career direction, but G-ville, is an awesome place to go to school. The MBA Executive Summary provides update info on alumni, etc.. Football games are great; check out the Navigator to find out all the latest on how the Gators are dominating NCAA and the SEC, or for an "unbiased" view, try USA Today's Gator Football page. Gator Growl is a lot of fun, and there's always a party. The education was pretty good, too.

Surfrider LogoI still care a lot about the beach and the ocean, 'cuz Mother Ocean is Earth's original amusement park. If you care, and you're concerned about the current state of degradation of the Earth's oceans and beaches, and you're willing to do something about it, join the Surfrider Foundation. Surfrider is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the world's waves and beaches through conservation, activism, research and education. They'll tell you here how you can join and how to contact your nearest local chapter.

I have identical twin daughters, Leah & Camille, born 11/22/91 and 11/23/91. I subscribe to the Twins mailing list and there is a TwinSource site.

Several other parenting of multiples sources which you may want to visit include:

  • Twinlink is a page with links to many other twins (and parents of twins) on the WWW.

  • This Site is a page with a listing of many of the international resources for twins.

  • Also check out Parentsplace, the parenting resource-center on the web.

  • I like art and I like to create, although I'm really not "gifted". Maybe one day I'll put some images here frommyself or from my sister Tiff, who is an awesome artist and photographer.

An incredibly great place to check out some beautiful art is the Web Museum. They have mirror sites around the globe and have special exhibits, just like a real museum. I could spend hours in here, and have at times.

For a newer slant on art, check out the Virtual Photo Gallery on the web, or the Fractal Design Digital Art Gallery.

For an outdoor urban slant on art, check out ArtCrimes, the Guggenheim of graffiti. You'll find some stunning graffiti and a lot of neat information.

On of my favorite artists is MC Escher, a man whose woodcuttings and lithographs combined math, art, repetition and transformation into some stunning images. You can sample many of these works at M.C. Escher's Virtually Gone Gallery and learn more about him at the World of Escher.

    .

Another of my mentally challenging favorites is Salvador Dali. There are a wealth of Dali pages on the WWW, so take to guided tour to check them out.
I like to read; if you do, please visit the Gutenberg Site here, a virtual online library. Several of the authors which I like to read include:

  • Hermann Hesse, whose presence on the WWW is surprisingly lean but improving. There are multiple resources on Hesse's Glass Bead Game, one of his best books and some quotes from Steppenwolf, one of his most popular works. Here's a bibliography.

  • If you like dementia and stories and poems about drinking, womanizing, and other diplorable pastimes, check out the Charles Bukowski home page, whose completeness and construction is evidence of his adoration. Also check out Wino Xing, another CB site which deals with CB works which have been committed to films (originally I thought it was the name of a Chinese person who constructed the site.) If you just want to read excerpts of a couple of poems, try Tragedy Of The Leaves, or Big Night On The Town.

  • I also like Goethe, but haven't dug anything up yet.

  • Here's a fairly complete Ayn Rand site. If you're not familiar with the great Objectivist author/philosopher's works, you can get a Rand-om quote (no pun intended) or a great overview of Objectivism.

  • A good Carlos Castaneda page is also available here.

  • If you think that the time spent getting from point A to point B is less productive than the time spent at point B, like me, you may find the WWW Speed Trap Registry valuable.

I love wine, with dinner or on its own. One of the most comprehensive spots to compare notes or participate in a virtual tasting is The Wine Page. A newcomer, with and exellent , simple tasting scale and a nice mail order interface is the Virtual Vineyard. Try it, Bacchus won't let you down.
