Hello, we are Susan and Phil Henderson and these are our dogs Olympia and Coach. Our puppy Howie is pictured in the title on this page. They are Bernese Mountain Dogs. The breed is originally from Switzerland where they served as all-purpose farm dogs.

They were used to pull milk wagons to market, to bring in the cows for milking and as watchdogs. They tend to be good with children and other animals, but they are big dogs so they need to be trained properly.

Even though they are big dogs, they like to be inside the house with their family. They don't do well as outside dogs. Unfortunately they also tend to shed a bit, so if you're are a very fastidious housekeeper these may not be the dogs for you.

Both of our dogs are from Eur-Am Bernese Mountain Dogs in Reno, Nevada.
