HouseBun mailing list guidelines

  1. HouseBun topics are health, care and behavior of house rabbits. (Topics of a more social nature can be discussed on the Petbunny list: listserv@lsv.uky.edu—“subscribe Petbunny” in the body of the message. An archive of postings to Petbunny can be found here.)
  2. We do not knowingly post messages that are also posted on Petbunny, EtherBun or any other rabbit list.
  3. Please do not include the entire message of the post that you are responding to. This takes up an incredible amount of disk space and is a waste of time to others who read the list. Please edit the post that you are responding to so that you post only the sentence or paragraph that you are responding to.
  4. Please make your post as clear as possible. The people reading this list do not have the time to continually look up words in the dictionary. Ease of communication is the goal here.
  5. We do not post drug dosages to HouseBun. If you are responding to a post asking for this information, please respond to the individual directly.
  6. Questions or comments regarding deliberate breeding issues do not fall within item (1) above. However, we will try to assist people who have rescued pregnant rabbits or are caring for unplanned bunnies. If necessary this topic may have to be taken off list and answered by individuals who have experience with this situation.
  7. In order to keep the volume of the list manageable: personal messages to individual members of the list such as birthday or get well greetings should be sent directly to the individual for whom they are meant.
  8. We do not accept posts requesting information specific to a particular area. For instance if you are looking for a vet in a particular area, please feel free to send a message directly to Sandi (Sandi@RabbitRodentFerret.org) or add a “PS” at the end of a message that does relate to HouseBun topics and ask that people respond to you directly.
  9. There are numerous rabbits throughout the US and rest of the world who are desperately looking for homes, but that topic is outside the topics for HouseBun.
  10. Please put an appropriate/applicable subject on all messages to HouseBun. Even if, in the future, one message goes through without a subject, your response to that post must contain a subject or the post will be rejected.
  11. When expressing condolences to an individual whose companion has passed on, please send the message directly to the person, rather than to the entire HouseBun list.
  12. Messages containing personal attacks of other list members will not be accepted for posting. Flaming is discouraged and you will have to do yours off list.
