This is really going to be my catchall page. Sort of like that drawer where you throw spare change, solo cufflinks and important little pieces of paper with phone numbers. So... let's be fair and first go to the HOBBIES:

I would have to say, my life is kind of a hobby. It seems all the things I do to make a living I would do anyway as a hobby. I've always made things with my hands. One time, I saw a picture of a persian rug that I liked so, I spent about six very compulsive months making a copy of it. It is quite large (5' by 13') and resides, slightly crowded on my living room floor. (SEE RUG) I also like to paint on occasion. I made a copy of a DaVinci (THE LADY WITH A FERRET) mainly because I loved the original so much. I thought there couldn't possibly be a better way to truly see the painting than to make a copy of it. I was right and learned a lot about art in the process. After that, I did a portrait of my mother using some of the techniques I had learned. Also, there was a time I worked in a Psychiatric Hospital for the over privledged. Mainly a lot of rich women in their 50s who had been dumped by their rich husbands for a younger model. About all they knew how to do was hostess, play Bridge and knit. I learned how to play Bridge and knit. But my knitting is strange! I figured out how to knit scarves where one pattern would show up on one side and a different pattern would show up on the reverse. If you would REALLY like me to explain how I do this... EMAIL ME! While I had the puppet company (see Theatre/Music page) I had a great many opportunities to make things with my hands. I made a copy of a balanese rod puppet... again, because I thought it was so interesting to look at. I never used it in a performance. In 1996, I had the chance to "play" some more. I made props for the six children's videos I wrote. You MUST see Ms. Cake! Her eyes track, lashes flutter, mouth works and, when she's embarrassed... her candles glow! There are all kinds of other things, but this is just to give you a taste. Again... if you would like to know about more....EMAIL ME
