This simulator depends
on equations which are based on the fundamental laws
of Physics, of Chemistry, and of Rock Mechanics. It
simulates the contour of the shock wave stress created
in the rock mass; for a given bench blast procedure,
the contour of your choice of shock wave stress level
T is simulated, and displayed graphically inside the
bench. With the choice T=To, the dynamic resistance
of the given rock, it is possible to predict blocks in
the collar zone, toe, possible back-break, etc. This,
together with other parameters explained below, helps
to predict the proper burden, collar length, subgrade
drilling, the choice of explosive types and their
distribution, as well as to evaluate the quality of a
final wall. With the choice of other values of T, it
is possible to improve the fragmentation in a given
zone of the bench.
