PetShare, along with several community and government agencies, sponsored "The Think About The Link" workshop in
November 2006 to educate the professionals about the connection between animal abuse and family violence.
More than 100 participants from human services, animal welfare, law enforcement, child-adult protective services, faith-based
organizations and others attended.
The workshop highlighted the need for agencies to work together to identify and prevent abuse of all family members, including
pets.
Beginning in 2007, PetShare and other coordinating organizations plan to launch a "Think About The Link" Task
Force to implement inter-agency response to family-animal abuse in our community.
