TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

Triplette Teams will designate a Team Captain.  Team Captains will pick a number from a hat and their team will be assigned that number which will set which teams they will play the the 1st half of the tournament.

The WHO-PLAYS-WHOM chart posted at the Registration table will show which teams play which teams.

For the First Half of the tournament (9am - 12pm) teams will play FOUR games.   Games will be played out to 13 points OR to 45 minutes (maximum).  A 10-minute warning will be sounded when 35 minutes have passed.

After each game, Team-Captains must note their game score at the Registration table.

Upon completion of the FOUR games; the teams will be divided into 2 parts, The 4 top ranked teams will play in the Tier-1 (victors) grouping and the remaining teams in the Consolante grouping.

At 1pm (after an hour break) the Tier-1 teams will play in a Round-Robin (every team plays each other)format.  The Consolante teams will  play direct elimination (random selection as 1st Half of day).  These games will be played to 13 points without a time limit. If there are three teams at the end of the brack, the 2 highest ranked teams compete in the final consolante.

At the conclusion of the games, each of the final (Highest Ranking) winning teams will be awarded VICTORS and CONSOLANTE awards.

DETAIL:   In the first half, where teams play four games a piece:

A) If the End of Game signal is given and the score is tied, if the round is not complete, it will be permitted to end that round - with the leading team pronounced game winner.

B) If the End of Game signal is given and the score is tied, and all boules have been played, it will be permitted for the teams to play one round - with the leading team pronounced game winner.

C) In Games where the End of Game signal has been given, and the winning score has not reached 13 points - the leading team's score will be increased to 13 points, and the "losing" team's score will also be increased the same # of points.  Example: Team-A has 10 points and Team-B has 6 points.  The Alarm signal is given.  Team-A's score is now 13, and Team-B's score is now 6 + 3 = 9 points.  (This is used to calculate which teams will move into Tier-1 in the afternoon games)

In matters of interpreting game rules, valid/invalid boules/cochons & in measurements, please feel free to consult either Jeff or Joe (the tournament referees).   I urge teams to utilize the highest levels of sportsmanship and rather than argue over an issue, consult with a referee.
