Marty & Marlene's Online 40th Anniversary Card

These are the great lovers, and the great romances,
of history. But missing from this list is one of the greatest love affairs
of them all; the love of Marty and Marlene.
Their story begins in 1957. On a blind date, Marty,
a nice boy -- a good boy -- from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, meets Marlene,
a fancy girl living on East 49th Street and Avenue J. Their courtship blossoms
over the next year and a half until, finally, Marlene tells Marty to "sh*t
or get off the pot." We are all glad he shat.
They were married on August 23, 1959. In the following
years, this wonderful union led to the arrival of Sharon, Adrienne and Eric,
and most recently, Julia (Sharon's daughter).
