One of the cool things about Pennsic is seeing the elaborate gate structures people build at the entrance to their encampment. A gate serves not just to keep people out, but to identify the people within. This gate belongs to the Great Dark Horde, a group whose inspiration seems to be the Golden Horde of Genghis Khan. I went to a really good drumming-and-bellydancing party in their camp one night. Nice people, those Mongolians.
