About Our Trainer:

For 35 years, our Trainer Cindy Detrick

has been successfully using

training methods

based upon trust and partnership

to attain best performance

in a variety of disciplines,

and encompassing ALL BREEDS.

Experienced and knowledgable of various disciplines, Cindy apprenticed under the premier Trainers in the country (including two Hall of Fame Trainers)

working with horses which included Gaited breeds as well as Non-Gaited.

We accept a very limited number of client horses each month.

You and your horse can benefit from years of training expertise

and success at a cost far below what most Trainers

charge for these same services

(Our rates for full Training Board start at only $650 per month).

Our approach to your horse's education is based upon

TRUST and UNDERSTANDING...

Humane, sensible handling, using the body language

and subtle cues horses use to communicate amongst themselves.

Our Goal :

To help you and your horse

understand each other,

eliminate bad habits,

and form a true partnership.

After a brief evaluation period,

you and the trainer will work together to plan an

individual training program exclusively for your horse,

your needs, your skill level, and your riding goals.

We train 6 days per week, and don't "clock watch"...

Your horse recieves the time and attention he needs

to understand his lessons and achieve his goals.

Our clients are always welcome to participate

in the training process to whatever degree they wish...

and encouraged to offer input and suggestions.

At Performance Trail & Pleasure Horses,

your horse's mental health and well-being

are just as important as his physical training.

(ALL training is based upon a 30 day period

at a cost of $650 which includes full board & care)

FINISHING TRAINING:

We no longer start youngsters under saddle, and require all horses

to have at least 30 days previous training under saddle.

"Finishing" includes smooth transistions between all gaits on cue,

including soft, supple responsiveness to seat, leg, and rein.

Balance, headset according to discipline, and manners.

A great intermediate program for all horses.

Our most popular training program,

Trail Training includes "finishing" as above,

plus an average of 10 miles per day of

riding on trails under "real-life" conditions.

Restoring the "glide ride" gaits to TWH's, SSH's, Foxtrotters, Paso Finos,

Peruvian Pasos, Rocky/Kentucky Mountain Horses.

Includes rider instruction for maintaining the gaits

and how to make future corrections yourself.

Restoration of smooth cadence to gaited horses

is automatically included as part of our

comprehensive 30 day Trail & Pleasure Training
