The explanation that seems to make the most sense to Windows Anonymous members, is that windowholicism is an illness, a progressive illness, which can be cured and arrested. To take it further, many members feel that the illness represents a mental obsession with being abused and ripped off by large monopolistic corporations. Before they are exposed to Windows Anonymous, many windowholics who are unable to stop using Microsoft Windows, think of themselves as computer illiterates, similar to AOLers, which is an entirely different, and far more insidious disease, which has reached epidemic proportions these days. The Windows Anonymous concept is that windowholics are sick people, for blaming themselves for Microsoft Windows' bugs. Windowholics can recover, if they will follow a simple program that has proven successful for untold millions around the world. Once windowholicism has set in , there is nothing morally wrong about being ill. At this stage, a choice of belief must be made. Does the windowholic believe that the crashes are his or her fault? Or does the windowholic believe that the problems all began with Microsoft? The windowholic must make the correct choice, in order to get well. Experience has shown that the Windows Anonymous program will work for all who are sincere in their efforts to stop using Microsoft Windows. It may not work for those not absolutely sure that they want to stop using Microsoft Windows. How can I tell if I am a windowholic? Only you can make that determination. Many who are now in Windows Anonymous have previously been told that there was no such thing as windowholicism., or worse, that they themselves were the cause of the well documented Microsoft bugs. These people finally turned to Windows Anonymous because they felt, deep down inside, that Microsoft Windows had licked them. They were ready to try anything that would free them from the compulsion to use Microsoft Windows. Some of these men and women went through terrifying experiences with Microsoft Windows, before they were ready to admit that Microsoft Windows was not for them. They had hard drives crash to the point of being unrecoverable, Windows virii spread to their and their friends' computers, and numerous full reinstalls after blue screens of death. The list is endless. They wasted their money, hardware, productivity and computing assets. Others joined Windows Anonymous before they paid too heavy of a price. Can a windowholic ever use Microsoft Windows normally again? Absolutely, although they will usually prefer not to, once cured. Many companies are saturated with windowholics who decide which operating system on which the employees must work. In these instances, a recovered windowholic has no choice, except to use Microsoft Windows, while at work. This is no problem, as long as the windowholic understands that the crashes, virii and bugs are due to Microsoft Windows, rather than him or herself. The important thing is that the recovered windowholic has learned that there are far superior operating systems than Microsoft Windows, and puts those alternatives to use, whenever possible. Alternatively, it can often be enough if the windowholic installs a better operating system, along side of Microsoft Windows, on the same hard drive. This will allow the windowholic to dual boot both Microsoft Windows and a better operating system, which allows for a side-by-side comparison. Many times, this method can free the windowholic from the illness forever. Can windowholics free themselves from Microsoft Windows, just by reading literature? The program works differently for everyone. Some have freed themselves from Microsoft Windows by reading. For others, Internet Explorer crashed one too many times. But nearly all who were in a position to do so, promptly sought out recovered windowholics, with whom to share the experience and increased productivity. Will Windows Anonymous really work for the person who has hit "rock bottom?" The record shows that Windows Anonymous will work for anyone who really wants to stop using Microsoft Windows, regardless of how badly Microsoft Windows may have wrecked one's system. The "down and outer" is at no disadvantage in coming to WA with his or her basic problem. The thing that has made life unmanageable is identical to the central problem of every other member of WA. The only thing that counts is whether or not the newcomer really wants to stop using Microsoft Windows. If the desire is there, the person will succeed. |
