Hello! Welcome to the download area for demonstration copies of Computronics PEEK software for Unix systems. Peek is a utility that is used to allow authorized users to assist other users and to provide training. It allows you to view a user's terminal, telnet, and xterm style sessions, and to type on the behalf of a monitored user. To use Peek you will need three files: * This README file, which you can download as an ASCII file as /pub/peek/README * The Peek manual, which is available in text form or as a ready to print Postscript file, or as an Acrobat PDF file. If you have the Acrobat Reader, use the file /pub/peek/peek_manual.pdf If you can prefer a Postscript file, use the file: /pub/peek/peek_manual.ps If you need a text version of the manual, download the ASCII file /pub/peek/peek_manual.txt * You will also need the software itself. Look for a directory named with the Unix system you utilize (hpux, aix, sco, etc). Then, in this directory will be file named: peekxxx_platform.cpio.Z In this name, "xxx" is the version number, and "platform" is the desired Unix platform. Thus to download version 1.9n of Peek for HP/UX you will download the BINARY file: peek109n_hpux.cpio.Z Finally, before installing the software, you need to execute the command on your Unix system: zcat peekxxx_platform.cpio.Z | cpio -icmvdu (Use the proper version and platform, as discussed above). At this time, you will have a directory called peekxxx and you can install it as documented in the Peek manual. Questions?
