How much, where?

This is a biggie, because no one, 

  maybe not even energy nuts,

  really sees things in scale.

Not nessesarily a high-tech question to comprehend, though need lots of tech info to construct.

Think of drive-space view software, lays out compartments.

IPCC Carbon compartment diagrams might be useful also.

To begin w/, I think of C.Hall's EROI  'balloon chart',

and Quaschning's Energy cube, mostly highlighting SOLAR (2005).   => SOLARSCALE

VERY IMPORTANT = 

  How much energy do you need, of what type, where?

Not always in buckets, not all the same types.

Some needs most easily & efficiently met by say, conservation.
