Creative Photography in a Digital World
Photography has been an important part of our culture for over 150 years. Technology
has evolved and the “mechanisms” have changed, but the basics of creative images remain constant
· How you, the photographer,
sees the world, and how you want to present your vision to your audience – what you want viewers to take away with them.
· How to take an existing
situation and create your own unique vision
· How to learn to
make the most of the technology of your present camera – film or digital
· Remember –
photography is about the photographer (not the camera)
The two-day course will help you develop your skills and learn to see a scene
as the camera will record it. You will also learn about capturing a moment in time – the essence of photography.
The course will include several different environments for making your photographs
– ranging from photojournalism to landscape to portraiture. If you have a digital camera, you will be able to view your
images that same day on a computer.
The world of the digital darkroom is very important, but is not the primary
focus of this workshop. The goal here is to create the best image you can, with as little need as possible for post-production
changes.
