by
Betty Bradley

Redstone has been called the "Ruby of the Rockies" for many years.  Betty has taken this nickname one step further and created a chair decorated with grapes, wine glasses, a bottle of wine and embellished with golden lettering.  This sturdy, rustic chair stands 34" tall with a seat of 16" X 18" and the seat is 18" from the floor.

"Morning Glories"
by
Ida Burnaman

Ida has been teaching art classes for CMC since 2001.  Her favorite medium is pastels although she does all types of painting. She enjoys a variety of subject matter; however, it is not the subject matter as much as it is the interesting patterns of light and shadow. As an artist, Ida observes the world closely and appreciates beauty in its many forms.

Ida has created a chair that stands 35" tall and is 25" from arm to arm with a seat of 17" x 20".

"Over the Rainbow"
by
Lindy Palmer

webfish.jpg

Lindy is a native Aspenite and part time resident of the Crystal Valley. Her paintings include mountain flowers and fish in midstream. The flowers represent the joyous and colorful pictures in her mind, the many springs and summers spent in the mountains of CO. She sees fish in motion just beneath the surface of the water, always perfect in their world.

Lindy's rainbow trout chair has a seat diameter of 16" and stands 35" from the floor to the chair back.

"Whimsical Nature"
by
Jackie Dearborn

Jackie Dearborn has created an "egg-ceptionally" whimsical chair that is sure to delight everyone.  The seat displays birds, bunnies, mushrooms and other items plucked from nature and all weaved together with pixie dust.  Strutting atop the chair back is a mythical mother bird as proud of her clutch of eggs as she is her fantastical plumage.

Jackie's chair has a back height of 30" but it is 45" from the floor to the top of the bird's head.  The seat height is 17" and the seat measures 14" x 15".

Jackie has been painting watercolors of still life floral compositions with found objects and landscapes since 1990.  Her educational and professional background of horticulture lends itself beautifully to the art of observation and the painting of the flower in its natural repose.  Jackie's love of nature and her playful personality shine through in this chair.  She resides full time in a cabin north of Marble with her long-time partner, Rawley Fosler.

"Dots of Sunshine"
by
Connie Hendrix

Connie Hendrix, formerly Connie Sandage, grew up dividing her time between Iowa and Colorado. She received a BFA degree from Drake Univ. She enjoyed a dual career in both graphic design and fine arts while living in Tennessee. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Colorado where Connie devotes full time to sculpturing, painting, and teaching workshops.

Connie's donation will add a drop of sunshine on the bleakest of days.  Her stool measures 29.5" tall and the seat has a diameter of 12.5".  A happy sunflower planted on a lime green backdrop with dots of various sizes is sure to bring a smile to everyone's face.  The stool can also be used to spotlight your favorite potted plant.

Becky graduated from CU in '89 with a degree in Fine Art and Art History. Unfortunately since then she has used her considerable talents in pursuits other than painting but hopes to remedy that in the near future.  Redstone is very fortunate to have Becky living here and hopefully we will see more of her art work soon.

Becky has rendered a scene of one of the Crystal River Valley's most beloved mountains on her gray suede chair.  Her chair will be a cherished treasure and a conversation piece in your mountain home.

"Cherish"
by
Jan Cross

Jan moved to Redstone in 2000, after living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 30 years.  While in Florida, Jan graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and enjoyed a career of designing eveningwear and wedding gowns for select stores on Los Olas Blvd.  She also designed costumes for the Fantasy Fest Parade held every year in Key West.  Some of her costumes have been featured in John K. Mellancamp’s music videos.  After relocating to Redstone, Jan turned her attention to art in the form of large paintings, murals and portraits of some of the local townspeople in Redstone and Marble.  She believes that the love of art combined with the beauty of the Crystal Valley will only enhance her abilities, thus creating many more pieces for the enjoyment of others.

The chair that Jan has created will indeed be the "cherished" spot for a very lucky little person.  This child's rocker is the ideal spot for reading a book or hugging a favored teddy bear.  The perfect gift from a doting Grandmother or for a baby shower.
