The Redstone Art
Foundation is pleased to once again offer a plein-air watercolor workshop taught by Kurt Isgreen, Monday through Wednesday,
Sept 14-16. Join Kurt in an enjoyable, informative, and inspirational workshop,
painting from sites in the beautiful Redstone area. Demonstrations, individual
instruction, and warm-up exercises will help the student develop strategies to simplify and organize the subject matter. Kurt
believes in a spontaneous approach emphasizing value, color, and shape relationships.
The class is open to artists of all levels. This is plein-air painting
at its best. Cost of the workshop for members of the RAF is $200 and the non-member
fee is $225. Contact Betty Bradley, 704-9963, for more information or to secure
a spot for yourself in this highly anticipated session.
The beauty of the
Crystal
River Valley around Redstone
will offer a perfect environment for watercolorists of all levels to experience and express the awe and wonder of the Colorado
Rockies in the fall. Isgreen remarked, “Here in Western
Colorado, our space is so vast it becomes a subject in itself, the challenge is conveying that vastness.”
Isgreen’s
love for the outdoors was nurtured through many trips with his father and his own excursions around Colorado’s backcountry. He hikes, fishes,
skis, and has worked as a carpenter. This rich sensory soil feeds his art, in
which he strives to convey the “spiritual aspect of the land.”
