The 5th Saturday Dance Hendersonville, NC

Hello All - With great regret, we've decided to no longer offer the 5th Sat dance here in Hendersonville. Primary problem for us has been locating an appropriate dance hall. When we started the series in the spring of 2006, we used the YMCA gym. This space was conveniently located and spacious but the floor finish was not holding up well to our activity. The VFW Hall was a nice find and also a convenient spot but the rent charge and usage terms became unacceptable when a change of command took place there this past summer of 2007. Our use of the American Legion hall filled our Sep 2007 commitments but as a long term solution we realize that the wood parquet over concrete is not suitable for an enjoyable dance. We've set our sites on other projects at this time. We may offer a day long dance event at a Henderson county camp at some point in the future or even resurrect the 5th Sat dance if an appropriate hall appears.
