This web page is based upon the wonderful work of Martha and Cliff Evans of Virginia. In return for my small addition to the LaRue family genealogy, mainly my Catlett information, Martha and Cliff gave me a copy of their LaRue research, for which I am always grateful. I can only say that I have barely taken a peek at what they have done and that this web page only shows a small amount of what they were able to find and compile. My thanks and best wishes go out to Martha and Cliff.
Here are a couple of other researchers who have their own LaRue
genealogy webpages:

Pierre of Calais and Antoine of La Leu could have been related, even brothers, as both were refugees from Catholic France. See LaRue Appendix re: Pierre. May be of importance to the Alley family. [This is Pierre son of Pierre of Calais and possibly a first cousin of Abraham son of Antoine, but not his brother. Should be kept first because he may be a first cousin, and 2d because his daughter is an ancestress of Alleys and may belong in that family.]

He married Nancy Jane Irons 5 March 1872 in Sidney, Fremont Co., IA.(26) Jennie was born 24 December 1852 in New Palestine, Hancock Co., IN. Jennie was the daughter of John Irons and Eliza Lane Robinson. Jennie died Monday, 16 March 1925 in Bartley, Red Willow Co., NE, at age 72. Jennie applied for a marriage license to wed Robert Clinton Catlett 5 March 1872 in Sidney, Fremont Co., IA.(27) Obituary of Mrs. Hickman; from collection of Lillie Catlett, now held by John C.E. Christensen.
"Jennie Irons was born December 24, 1852, at New Palestine, Indiana. Her parents move to Iowa when she was but a child and settled at Sidney, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Catlett, March 5, 1872, at Sidney, Iowa. To this union were born seven children, whom all survive their mother except Benice (sic) and John who departed this life in the year 1893. The subject of this sketch attended school at Tabor, Iowa, and finished in the academy for girls there. After her marriage she, with her family, moved to Pawnee county, Nebraska, in the 1881, and thence to Red Willow county in 1884, where they made their home on a homestead two miles north of Bartley, until her companion passed away, December 1903, and as soon as necessary arrangements could be made she moved to Bartley in December, 1904, which has been her home until death over took her, Monday, March 16, 1925, being 72 years, 2 months and 22 days of age. Death came after a noble fight for healthin which all that medical skill and loving care could do had failed. The subject of this sketch was again united in marriage to P.J. Hickman on April 25, 1917, at Bartley, Nebraska, and for only a short time were they permitted to travel life pathway together, but what time they were permitted proved enjoyable and companionable to the end. Sister Hickman confessed her faith in Christ under the labors of Elder C. P. Evans, and has identified with the church of Christ ever since until the time of her death. She was a very industrious worker in the community, being president of a sewing circle for years. Was the first Chief of Honor of Lodge No. 63 of the Degree of Honor. She ws an untiring worker and ever hoping to be able to help consumate her plans, even though sickness and suffering sometimes seemed to make it seem almost impossible, but thru the spirit of earnestness seemed to bear her up and would not give up until a few days before the end came that she would accept the inevitable. the funeral services were conducted from the Chuch of Christ in Bartley by the pastor of the Church of Christ of Indianola, in the absence of her pastor, who was away holding a meeting in Maywood, who spoke words of confort to a very large company of friends who had gathered to pay a trubute of respect to a companion, a mother, a neighbor and a friend, from the words of Paul `Now we are saved through hope' Wednesday afternoon. The floral offering were beautiful and bountiful, which bespeaks of the high esteem in which our dear sister was held. Sister Hickman leaves to mourn her death a loving companion: five children; Percy, of Bartley; Charles of Max; Georgie, of Cambridge; Carey, of Bartley, and Maud, of Axfel. Two brothers: I.H. Irons, of Glenwood, Iowa, and Dave Irons, of Los Angeles, California. Four sisters: Mrs. Mary Nichols, of New Palestine, Indiana; Mrs. Pet Smith, of Carl Junction, Missouri; Mrs. Maud Roney, of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Mrs. Georgie Furbush, of Oakland, California, besides many friends."

These pioneer experiences and lifes trials, she met with a beautiful spirit sent to her by an all wise Heavenly Father, thus throughout the years she faced life with courage and optimism that brought comfort and strenght both to herself and others, thus proving her faith by her works of love and mercy to all those within the sphere of her influence. Mrs. Hindman confessed her Christian faith early in life by uniting with a little country church in Iowa; later becoming a faithful member of the Danbury Methodist church and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Lebanon, Nebr.

He married Carrie Annette Stevens 17 February 1904 in Fredom, NE. Obituary; from collection of Lillie Catlett, now held by John C.E. Christensen.
"Percy Catlett was born in Freemont County Iowa, November 22, 1873, in 1881 he moved, with his parents, to Pawnee County Nebraska, and in 1884 to Redwillow County where his father R. C. Catlett, took a homestead north of Bartley. All of his sixty years of life were spent in this community excepting a brief period in which they resided on a farm south of McCook. Percy was a graduate from the Bartley School, finishing with the first class, May 17, 1895. For a number of years ater graduation he followed the teaching profession during which time he taught several terms in country schools, and in Bartley, and one year as principal of the Palisade schools. He was united in marriage to Miss. Carrie Stevens of Freedom, Nebraska, Febr. 17, 1904. Two Children were born to them; Glema and Harold, both of whom, with his wife, survive him. Percy was a rural mail carrier for about 28 years, having served the entire time on Rt. 2 out of Bartley. Recently the 2 routes were combined, but he was not permitted to take up the enlarged task because of ill health. He and his companion had never taken a real vacation since their marriage, so they decided to take one; Percy said that it was to be their honeymoon. They went to San Francisco, Calif., where he sought to rest and regain his health at a sanatorium oprated by the Christian Science church. But it was not to be so and a little over a week after they reached their destination he passed to his enternal home. Percy was converted in the Christian church in Bartley and was a faithful member of that church for many years, holding some of the offices of responsibility in the church during the years in which he was affiliated with it. Later, he and his companion affiliated with the Christian Science church, and as readers conducted services in Bartley for a number of years, and was true to his faith to the last. Percy was a kind and loving husband and father and a loyal citizen who will be greatly missed by all who knew home (sic). He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Marmiam Pederson of Berwyn, Neb., one son, Harold, of Bartley; two brothers, C. E. Catlett and Carey Catlett, of Bartley, and two sisters, Mrs. S. A.
