The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
he makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff,
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall well in the house of the Lord for ever.

23rd Psalm |
To me, this is one of the most powerful and comforting
statements that has ever been written. When I experience pain or
sorrow, this statement comforts me. |
|
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From whence does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved,
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade
on your right hand.
The sun shall not smite you by day,
not the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and for evermore. |
121st Psalm |
This is a beautiful soliloquy. It is not only a
statement of my relationship to God, but extols the beauty of the
earth. It has special meaning to me because I used it as the
starting point of an essay in junior high school which was the beginning
of the development of my writing abilities, now forming a major part of
my work. |

The fog comes
On little cat feet.
It sits looking
Over harbor and city
On silent haunches
And then moves on |
Carl Sandburg
Fog (1916)
|
Every time I see or think about a cat, this poem runs
through my mind. I also fondly remember reading and discussing it
in junior high school English class. |

I'll make an exception. |
Groucho Marx
Saying

Groucho is probably the most irreverant person ever in his
comedic life and certainly a wonderful comedian. He was truly a
great artist. |

A mighty fortress is our God,
A bulwark never failing.
Our helper He amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing. |

Ein' Feste Burg (1529)

Another very powerful religious statement. This was
the first thing that came to my mind after the September 11th
terrorist attack. |

Tuvok in Star Trek Voyager |
This is really the wish of all of us and a restatement of
what many others have said. |

Lou Costello (Louis Francis Cristillo) - The
