The news in brief
So what have I been doing with myself for the last few weeks?
School. Visit to Cambridge two weekends ago. Drinking a lot of caffeine (which, unusually for me, is actually having an effect -- thus I am on caffein hiatus). Lots of tango -- twice a week lately. Makes me so happy -- more fun than just about anything, except maybe chamber music. Giving up on my futile attempt to write a novel in a month (see here). Also attempting to write a tremendously long blog post on subjects political, coming soon. Currently: recovering from jet lag, after a 4:30 am shuttle pickup on Wednesday and a red-eye back this morning. Word to the wise -- *never* attempt to fly out of JFK the day before Thanksgiving.
Randomly: A.F. mentioned that on Halloween she had seen a girl dressed as The Cheat, complete with light stick taped to her hand, entering a rave-like party. Wunderbar! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you probably wouldn't find it funny anyway... [but kudos to the person who posted the hilarious Yale Law Squad comic on The Wall earlier this term]).

In memoriam
For Lea, who laughed -- whom I can't remember without that grin, who had a nice thing to say to everyone she met, and to whom the greatest testament is the number of people who can't imagine the world without her.
