A Small, Good Thing

Discovered a couple of nice things about New Haven today, during my post-exam several-hour roam. The first involved clothing and shoe stores (will spare you the details.) The second was Gastronomique. A tiny little nook on High Street, this place is essentially a French traiteur, meaning to-go only -- but there is a nice little bench to sit on if it's nice out. Cannot wait to try it for dinner. Black pepper walnut crusted tuna steak, mmm... Today I had the salmon gravlox -- pumpernickel bread (but soft and light, nothing like store-bought) topped with cucumbers, onion, yogurt, and quite possibly the best smoked salmon I have ever had. And the creme brulee... A little cinnamon on top, just perfect. New birthday wish: the $350 one-month "student meal plan."
