Special Tips
Special Tip #1. The Metro system is one of the best in the country. Look at a map before automatically getting on a train. Neighborhoods and names of metro stops are sometimes one and the same.
Special Tip #2. The taxi system in the DC metro area is screwy. Don't let yourself get taken advantage of. Taxis don't have meters. They use zones to calculate fares. Make sure to look closely at a taxi zone map to be sure you only get charged for the number of zones through which you actually travel.
