English Patrizia Ferrara is the younger child of two, born into the bicultural home of her Austrian mother and Sicilian father. Settled on the border of Italy and South Austria, she grew up with the traditional sounds of Naples and the pop music of the 80's. She was only sixteen years old when she moved away from home, to Vienna, the capitol of Austria and started connecting with musicians and soon performed on a regular basis with the Brazilian singer Celia Mara. This wonderful mix of cultures and the bilingual upbringing made it easy for her to move between languages and cultures and so the road continued internationally, working with African, Columbian, Turkish and Cuban artists until she found the music that made her go to school and study. “JAZZ.” The study of voice and piano at the Gustav Mahler Conservatory in Vienna and graduated with honors in 2002. In 2004 she met the singer and composer Dean Bowman and the pianist Danny Grissett in Europe. In 2005 she did her first New York tour with Dean Bowman sponsored by the Austrian Cultural Institute. The music was based on vocal duets with a tremendous love for soul music and vocalese at the same time. In 2005 Patrizia Ferrara moved to New York. Sharing her talents with sick children, she performed for Hospital Audiences Inc., New York and traveled several times to Palestine giving public performances with the help of Defense Children International and the Italian General Consul in Jerusalem. Since her arrival to New York in 2005, Patrizia Ferrara has been a part of various showcases and performed at the Blue Note late night groove series, Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM), 55 Bar, Zinc Bar, Smoke, and the Austrian Cultural Forum. Patrizia Ferrara performed her great talent in more than 10 countries and captures her audiences with her beautiful, soothing voice and outstanding charisma. Her original music is genuine, and warm. It is firmly rooted in Nu-Jazz, R&B, and Acoustic Brazilian Rhythms, and performed in english, italian, portuguese and spanish. 2009 Debut CD “Simple Things”. Washington (Earth, Wind and Fire), Rudi Wilfer, Fred Eisler, DJ Cut-EX, DSL, Urbs (G-Stone Records the label of Kruder and Dorfmeister), Al Haka, JazznBass, Prince Zeka, and the poet Christian Ide Hintze may he rest in peace. Deutsch Patrizia Ferrara wuchs mit der neapolitanischen Folklore und der Popmusik der 80iger Jahre auf. Sie ist das jüngere Kind von einer Österreicherin und einem Sizilianer die sich in den siebziger Jahren in Österreich kennenlernten und sich an der Grenze von Österreich zu Italien niederliessen. Der Wunsch Sängerin zu werden war immer da. Mit sechzehn Jahren ging sie von zu Hause weg, in die österreichische Hauptstadt Wien und wurde bald daraufhin in der band der brasilianischen Sängerin Celia Mara aufgenommen. Ihre Herkunft, dieser besondere Mix der zwei Kulturen macht es ihr möglich sich einfach zwischen Sprachen und Kulturen zu bewegen und so geht es international weiter mit der Zusammenarbeit mit amerikansichen, columbianschen, brasilianisch, afrikanischen und türkischen Künstlern. 2003 Jazzgesangsdiplom mit Auszeichnung am Gustav Mahler Konservatorium. 2004 traf sie auf den amerikanischen Sänger Dean Bowman und es folgte eine wunderbare Zusammenarbeit. Gesangsduette im Stil von Donny Hathaway und Roberta Flack, die einerseits im Soul und andererseits im Stil von Lembert, Hendricks and Ross, im Vocalese verwurzelt sind. 2005 Umzug in die USA und die erste Tournee in den Vereinigten Staaten mit Dean Bowman unterstützt vom Austrian Cultural Institute in New York. 2009 Debut CD “Simple Things”.
