Making the fastest flight on record between Miami and Cristobal, this Sikorsky S-43 was recently delivered to Panagra for use on its South American routes, covering the distance in 8 hours 25 minutes elapsed time. The crew comprised D.C. Beatty, A.L. Garrison, J.E. Glaze, and A.L. Lee. The S-43 is powered with two Hornet engines and fitted with Hamilton Standard Constant Speed propellers.
