Braniff's Flying Colors (N1805 MSN 45899). Panagra had ordered five DC-8-62's but merged with Braniff before delivery. Braniff let the order stand. This plane was delivered with a lime green fuselage. In 1973 it received a this new paint job.
Capt. Schultz, my father, arrived at the airport for his last flight to find his plane was missing. The station manager then indicated that there was a special flight during the night that left with his plane, leaving Flying Colors behind for him to fly on his last flight as a commercial airline pilot.
