Pan American-Grace Airways

The World's Friendliest Airline.

"The great philosophy which should guide the management of all transportation is service, and, from its inception 25 years ago, the watchword of Panagra has been service and service and more service. In the airline business, above all others, that philosophy is the guidepost of success."

"Service, Mr. Chairman, has many phases. When we in the airline business talk of service, we mean service on the ground; we mean service in the cabin and, above all, we mean service in the shops and in the cockpit, because the primary responsibility of airline management . . . that which falls most heavily on our shoulders, is to guard the safety of the human beings who entrust their lives to our care."

Mr. Andrew B. Shea
President, Pan American-Grace Airways, Inc.
Speaking at the Newcomen Society, Feb. 24, 1954
