Marsha Anderson Bomar - SWE Entrepreneur of the Year
Marsha Anderson Bomar is president and founder of Street Smarts Inc., based in Duluth, Ga., with
operations in Virginia, Texas, and Florida. Founded in 1990, the firm provides transportation planning, traffic engineering,
roadway and site design, traffic signal design, intelligent transportation system design, as well as surveying, public involvement
and facilitation, and geographic information services.
Bomar was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to parents who instilled a drive to succeed,
to call her own shots and maintain her values. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1973 from the Polytechnic
Institute of Brooklyn. Thanks to a fellowship, she received a master’s degree in transportation engineering from Polytechnic
Institute of Brooklyn and two master’s degrees in civil engineering from Princeton University.
She is active in numerous professional and civic organizations. She is a past president and Fellow of the International
Institute of Transportation Engineers, a 20,000-member professional society. Bomar is also a member of the American Society
of Civil Engineers and the American Council of Engineering Companies. She received the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Athena
Award, and was a Small Business Person of the Year finalist. Bomar recently received the Institute of Transportation Engineer’s
Burton Marsh Distinguished Service Award as well as the Women’s Transportation Seminar Woman of the Year Award and Employer
of the Year Award. Street Smarts was also named “Best Place to Work” in 2003 by Gwinnet Magazine.

Leslie Sibert named to "25 Power Women in Atlanta"

Leslie Sibert is the vice president transmission for Georgia Power and is responsible for the company’s
transmission system, including its planning, maintenance, operations and new construction. She oversees an organization of
more than 1,200 employees with an annual capital and operations and maintenance budget of $370 million.
Sibert started with the company as a co-op student in 1982 and has held a variety of positions since,
including retail/wholesale, distribution, customer service, and labor relations. A graduate of Georgia Tech, she completed
the Harvard Professional Management Development Program in 2001. She was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Engineering
Alumni at Georgia Tech in 2005. Leslie is featured in the January 2007 issue of Atlanta Woman Magazine

Sibert is active in civic affairs as well. Currently she serves on the YWCA of Greater Atlanta Board,
the Georgia Tech Research Alliance Board, and the Decatur Rotary Club.
