Professional experience

2000-2002 Freelance Photojournalist. Publications: LOS ANGELES TIMES covering daily assignment on a regular basis for the main office in Downtown for the National desk, the California desk, the Sport desk, the Calendar desk, the Business desk, and the Southern California Living desk.

Other assignment also includes works for: Gamma Press, TIME Magazine, Associated Press, San Francisco Chronicle, The Miami Herald, Baltimore Sun, News Day (NY), Amica magazine(Germany), Glendale News Press, Forza Magazine, and Pasadena Weekly.

12/99-09/00 Staff Photojournalist for the Santa Monica Our Times and the Westside Weekly, both supplements to the Los Angeles Times. Assignments covering stories, social issues, news, political and commercial events. Participation in the daily coordination of operations.

08/99-12/00 Staff Photojournalist at Conejo Valley Our Times and Simy Valley Our Times, both daily sections of the Los Angeles Times. Spring 1999 Staff Photographer at the Corsair, Santa Monica College weekly newspaper. Created ideas, photographs and coordinated eight photographers for a project entitled "One Day on the Westside".

1987-1995 Photographer ­ Foto Studio Meoli in Rome, Italy. Studio and outdoors people photography. Produced daily assignments, provided customer services, marketed and managed the studio.

1988-1991 Elementary School Teacher ­ Scuola Elementare Fausto Cecconi in Rome, Italy. Substitute elementary teacher for 1st to 5th graders.

1980-1985 Diploma di Instituto Magistrale at the Mecenate, Rome, Italy. Teaching diploma for elementary school. Additional professional skills Mac/PC Photoshop 5.5, PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver, digital capturing (35mm, 6x6 and 4x5 format).

 

Exhibits

April 1999 "Riflessioni Sottopelle" at the Poinsettia Groomery Gallery in Los Angeles. A collection of black and white photographs of Rome at night mounted on canvas.

 

Awards

May 2000 First place national NPPA contest for best feature photo " Mexican Dancers."

Sept.1999 First place sport photo at the JACC for an underwater image of a swimmer.

June 1999 First place environmental portrait at the Santa Monica College newspaper "Corsair."
