Our Heritage Guest Ranch is nestled in the foothills of the picturesque Pine Ridge of northwest Nebraska.
In addition, we are within easy driving distance of such attractions as Fort Robinson State Park,
Chadron State Park, Fur Trade Museum, Agate Fossil Beds, Hudson/Meng Bison Bone Bed, Scottsbluff National Monument, and Chimney
Rock, in Nebraska.
Mount Rushmore and the Black hills of South Dakota are also
within driving distance.
Our area provides a variety of opportunities to fossil
or rock hunt. We are in the Eocene and Oligocene era in the Brule formation. Rock beds 10 miles to our north are reminders
we were once the edge of a glacier. Evidence that we were once underwater is shown by what fossils are found. Our ranch’s
geological structure was caused by a slip fault, which is the reason for our unique scenery and varying formations.
Neighboring us is Toadstool National Park. Over the hills just 4 miles due west is the Hudson/Meng
Bison Bone Bed. Agate Fossil Bed is a 45 minute drive away as is the Mammoth Museum. The Fur Trade Museum and Fort Robinson
State Park are excellent places to learn about our western history and the settling of this land.
