Karyn Janowski is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and has
been a participating artist in several community projects in her native state of Wisconsin. Under the direction of muralist
Caryl Yasko, Karyn assisted in the production of preliminary drawings and the surface preparation and painting
of the Whitewater Historical Mural (The Prairie Tillers), in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She was also involved, with the Chicago
Public Art Group, in the design and drawing of the Mifflin Street Community Co-op Mural in Madison(1987), and in the Wisconsin
Children’s Theatre, as Scenic Designer and Painter. In the Los Angeles area, Karyn has been an artist adjudicator for
the Emerging Young Artists Awards scholarship program(a program of the California Alliance for Arts Education). She has worked
for Eppraisals.com, a Chicago based online appraisal company, and currently works at Bonhams & Butterfields auction house.
Perhaps her most satisfying personal accomplishment was in founding and coordinating "The
Warehouse" studio for visual artists and musicians in 1985. This was a chance for Karyn to provide numerous visual artists
and musicians an opportunity to create and interact in an affordable and receptive environment. Karyn has resided in Los Angeles,
California since 1992.
