Hawkins Creek

We paddled through this thick tangle of wisteria on Hawkins Creek.

A snake, who seems to be resting on an abandoned bird nest. Do snakes build nests??  We paddled him aside and continued on up Hawkins Creek.

Elmer at the end of the creek near Rt 24. It is only a short walk to Hardees.

Below a view of the Methodist Church on Rt 24.

The last few feet of Hawkins Creek are rendered impassable by very large concrete blocks, perhaps the remnants of an old bridge. It is possible to put in here, below the dam and paddle on to the ICW. All that needs to be done is to cut out the brush over-hanging the creek, and we will have a paddle trail to the Intra-Coastal Waterway and the Sound.
