Rt 17 Bridge

This yellow arrow is very important for anyone planning to paddle the upper White Oak River. This is a picture of the bridge on Rte 17. This very low water level is ok for Gibson Bridge on down with only four hump over logs. But do not put in at Emmett Lane unless the water is up to the shoulder of the bank and preferably up to the bottom of the concrete bridge support.

Please don't hold us responsible for what the beavers may have done since we were there. The river cleaners had opened the beaver dams near the lodge where we paddled and were doing the same above Gibson Bridge. We heard five dynamite detonations.
