About WS6
The WS6 package made its public introduction with the 1978 Trans Am. The WS6 which was
introduced as a "Special Performance and Handling Package" had its origins from the
works of Herb Adams who worked for Pontiac in the development of the Trans Am. Herb built cars
to compete in the SCCA Trans Am (Trans American) road races and was marketing his improvements
through his company VSE much like SLP does today. His work was then adapted on the
production cars under the WS6 package which only some specific models were able to have like the
GTA.
